A pair of high-value estates in the Adirondacks are scheduled for auction in the coming weeks, according to a report from the Times Union. The auctions will be conducted live and will also provide teleconference participation.
One of the properties is Camp Iroquois, located in Saranac Lake. Known as one of the region’s traditional “Great Camps,” this nine-acre estate features a 4,000-square-foot main house. The waterfront property includes six sleeping cabins, a dining hall, a four-car garage, tennis and pickleball courts, a workshop, and gardens. Camp Iroquois was last sold at auction in 2020 for $2.4 million. It is currently listed for $4.3 million but will be offered at auction on September 23 without reserve, meaning there is no minimum bid required.
The second estate is situated in Bloomingdale within the town of St. Armand and is being made available for sale for the first time. This large property covers 295 acres across three parcels and contains two lakes, a brook running through it, and several hiking trails. There are three residences on site: a 1,700-square-foot main home built in 1838, a 1,300-square-foot guest cabin added later, and a recently constructed 700-square-foot log cottage. Additional structures include a garage, workshop, woodshed, and generator building. Previously listed at nearly $5.3 million, this estate will go to auction on October 9 with a reserve price set at $2.3 million.
Platinum Luxury Auctions has been named as the organizer and host for both auctions.
Recent activity suggests continued strong interest in Adirondack luxury real estate; earlier this year Shawn Todd of Todd Interests entered into contract to acquire Whitney Park—a 36,000-acre property in Long Lake—as well as Cady Hill mansion in Saratoga Springs with plans for resort development.
“Big Adirondack properties are commanding big bucks,” said Holden Walter-Warner.
