Aldi has signed the largest retail lease in New York City for August, taking 25,000 square feet at 312 West 43rd Street in Midtown West. The German grocery chain was represented by Esther Bukai of Ripco Real Estate. The landlords, Taconic Partners and National Real Estate Advisors, were represented by Lon Rubackin, Michael Kadosh, and Bevan Cohen of CBRE.
The second-largest deal was Harlem Furniture’s new lease for 24,000 square feet at 250 Willis Avenue in Mott Haven. This marks its second Bronx location and third overall in the city. Miles Sabbagh, Marc Sitt, and Nathan Aballi of KSR handled negotiations for both the tenant and landlord JRM 250 Realty.
GMA Accessories took the third spot with a new 12-year lease for 23,700 square feet at 389 Fifth Avenue in the Garment District. Michael Joseph of Colliers represented GMA Accessories while Max Koeppel of Koeppel Rosen acted on behalf of the Rosen family.
The remaining top deals include Mamo restaurant leasing 7,000 square feet at Midtown East’s 885 Third Avenue; Stealth NY signing for 5,000 square feet at Greenpoint’s 67 West Street; Funzy Play Family Club securing a 15-year lease for another 5,000 square feet at Long Island City’s 2-20 Malt Drive; Tin’s restaurant and cocktail bar taking up space on Ludlow Street; Utopia Bagels opening a shop on Third Avenue; Bottega Veneta leasing retail space on Gansevoort Street; and a hospitality group led by David Yun, Steve Choi & Yong Min Kim agreeing to a new lease on First Avenue in the East Village.
