Amazon has announced a series of initiatives aimed at supporting nonprofit organizations in New York City. These efforts include donations, partnerships, and employee-led activities to improve safety, health, and digital access.

Commonpoint Queens reported that Ring, an Amazon subsidiary, contributed over $90,000 in home security products and services. The donation comprises 250 Ring Video Doorbells, 50 Ring Cameras, 50 Ring Chimes, and lifetime subscriptions to Ring Basic. Additionally, $15,000 in funding was provided. This initiative targets residents aged 60 and older in Northeast Queens through Older Adult Centers and Naturally Occurring Retirement Community programs. Distribution is on a first-come, first-served basis via Commonpoint.

An internal announcement from Amazon detailed an employee-only blood drive held on August 26, 2025, at its JFK27 Manhattan office. Organized by Project GiveBack and the ISV Team Culture with the New York Blood Center’s support, the event sought to mitigate a regional summer shortage by recruiting 384 donors. Each donation could assist multiple patients. The New York Blood Center had declared a blood emergency in June due to declining donations.

Civic Hall revealed that Amazon became a founding sponsor of its Union Square hub by funding an “Amazon Classroom” for digital-skills workshops and career training. This partnership aims to connect training providers with jobseekers while expanding tech career pathways across neighborhoods.

CBS New York reported that hundreds of clients from the New York Common Pantry received toiletry kits through a collaboration involving Amazon and L’Oréal with Robin Hood’s support. This aid offers timely relief for households facing cost pressures as winter approaches.

According to Amazon’s U.S. Community Impact Report, more than $215,000 was donated to Queens Public Library in 2023 for educational programs and cultural events. This includes support linked to Hip Hop’s 50th Anniversary celebration.

Amazon Mission Foundation Inc., part of the global technology company founded in 1994 with headquarters in Seattle, oversees these initiatives. The company operates e-commerce marketplaces along with logistics networks and the AWS cloud platform.
