A newly built mansion in Bridgehampton has been purchased for $58 million by Wyc Grousbeck, co-owner of the Boston Celtics, and his wife Emilia Fazzalari. The sale was first reported by the New York Post.

The property, located at 165 Surfside Drive, features eight bedrooms and was constructed last year by developer Joe Farrell. It covers 1.24 acres and includes amenities such as a pool, a six-car garage, and 125 feet of oceanfront access. The house itself is 8,600 square feet with eight bathrooms and a rooftop terrace measuring 4,400 square feet that includes a putting green.

Originally listed for just under $80 million in April 2024, the asking price was reduced by $10 million in October before the final sale to Grousbeck and Fazzalari.

Richard Steinberg from Compass and Greg Gould along with Dominic Couzens from Hedgerow Exclusive Properties represented Grousbeck in the transaction.

Nearby is another property developed by Farrell at 155 Surfside Drive that was listed for $125 million in 2023 but is currently not for sale. However, it has been available for rent at rates around $1 million per month.

Joe Farrell recently purchased an oceanfront home at 42 Deforest Road in Montauk for $17 million. According to Behind the Hedges, this set a record price for the Ditch Plains Beach area; the one-acre property had previously been listed just under $20 million.

Grousbeck’s acquisition comes about three months after he sold his controlling interest in the Boston Celtics to a group led by private equity executive William Chisholm for $6.1 billion. Grousbeck had bought the team in 2002 for $360 million and will remain involved until Chisholm assumes full control of the organization in 2028.

Bruce Beal Jr., president of Related Companies and vice chair/partner of the Miami Dolphins NFL team—which is owned by Stephen Ross—was among those investing alongside Chisholm.
