The Charles B. Wang Center at Stony Brook University is set to present a range of events for fall 2025, with programming that includes visual art exhibitions, performances, workshops, and film screenings.

From September 26 through December 31, the Skylight Gallery will feature “Through the Light: Contemporary Jogakbo by Wonju Seo.” This exhibition reinterprets traditional Korean wrapping cloths in a contemporary style, transforming the gallery space with layers of translucent textiles that interact with natural light. Visitors will also have the opportunity to participate in a workshop on jogakbo on Saturday, September 27.

The Wang Center Theatre will host several live events inspired by this season’s themes. A shadow puppet show related to Wonju Seo’s exhibition is scheduled for Sunday, November 9. On Saturday, November 22, audiences can attend “Magic Q’s Veil of Secrets,” which features a Chinese illusionist. Four films are also planned for screening in the theatre during the fall semester.

In addition to these performances and exhibitions, there will be workshops focusing on flower arrangement, bonsai cultivation, and other crafts inspired by nature.

“Whether through textiles, plants, magic or shadows, I hope you’ll continue to find inspiration, connection and warmth at the Wang Center as the year winds down and the days grow colder,” said Jinyoung Jin, director of Asian art and culture at the Wang Center.

More information about these programs and a complete list of events can be found on the Wang Center website.
