The Coalition of Black Trade Unionists (CBTU) Region II recently convened its conference in the Washington, D.C. area, focusing on the challenges faced by federal workers amid the ongoing government shutdown and staffing reductions.

During the event, participants discussed how federal employees are managing under these conditions. The shutdown has led to uncertainty for many workers in the Mid-Atlantic region, which is represented by CBTU Region II.

CBTU leaders emphasized the impact of government actions on their members and called attention to issues affecting job security and workplace stability for federal employees.
