Glenn Davis, a former partner at Douglas Elliman, has left the firm to join Serhant, where he will establish a new group called the New York Collaborative Team. Davis is bringing seven agents with him as part of the move to Ryan Serhant’s brokerage.
“I’ve contemplated working with Ryan for years. We came up in the industry together,” Davis said. “Ryan’s platform is just compelling to me because there is opportunity, and there is growth. That’s something that at this point in my career, I want to be on the ground level of.”
Davis emphasized he holds no negative feelings toward Elliman and expressed appreciation for the company’s leadership, particularly CEO Michael Liebowitz, who took over last year. “I just needed a change,” Davis said. “Real estate is evolving. Either we’re part of it, or we’re not.”
This move follows the recent departure of Davis’s former partner, Noble Black, who left Elliman with 10 agents and returned to the Corcoran Group after previously spending a decade there. Davis and Black had merged their teams last year under Noble Black & Partners, which ranked fourth in The Real Deal’s latest assessment of top resale agents and teams in New York City, achieving $162 million in sales. The team was also recognized among the city’s top new development brokers, ranking thirteenth with $92 million in sales.
“I’ve known [Glenn] for years and have always admired his relentless work ethic, integrity, and ability to lead at scale,” said Serhant.
Before partnering with Black, Davis co-led a successful team at Elliman with Justin Tuinstra; after their split, Tuinstra continued independently. Davis also previously contributed to new developments with the Eklund-Gomes Team at Elliman.
A spokesperson for Elliman commented on the departure: “We wish Glenn all the best in his new endeavor.”
Davis’s exit comes amid several notable departures from Elliman. Neal Sroka left last month after two decades to focus on his consulting business full time, while Kathy Murray exited earlier this summer after 20 years to join Corcoran.
Serhant has been expanding since April 2023, beginning on the East Coast and recently adding an office in Arizona. The company now has 1,300 agents across 13 states following its latest branch opening in Newport, Rhode Island.
