IAM District 142 recently held its second annual charity golf tournament at Papago Golf Course in Phoenix. The event raised funds for Guide Dogs of America and Tender Loving Canines, a charity supported by the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM).

The tournament is described as a competitive fundraiser among IAM districts. Money raised from the event, including from games and donated prizes, will help support training and placement of service dogs for visually impaired people, veterans with PTSD, and autistic children. All services are provided at no cost to recipients.

Staff members from Guide Dogs of America attended the event with puppies in training. They expressed their appreciation for the funds raised and noted the success of the gathering. More information about Guide Dogs of America and Tender Loving Canines can be found on their website: https://www.guidedogsofamerica.org/.

According to Guide Dogs of America’s mission statement, they provide service dogs free to those in need, supporting independence for individuals with visual impairments or other challenges.
