More than 3,200 members of IAM Union District 837 at Boeing’s St. Louis facilities are set to vote on a revised contract offer from the company on Sunday, August 3, starting at 10 a.m. Central Time. If union members reject the new proposal, a strike is scheduled to begin at midnight on Monday, August 4.
The updated contract proposal from Boeing includes several changes. The company has withdrawn its Alternative Workweek Schedule (AWS) proposal, meaning current overtime policies will remain in place. Employees at the maximum pay rate would receive an additional annual $0.50 per hour under the revised offer. For pension-eligible workers, the modified agreement proposes a full $10 pension multiplier increase in the first year for those retiring after January 1, 2026; previously, this increase was split over three years.
Other elements of Boeing’s offer remain unchanged from earlier proposals, including a proposed 20% wage increase over the life of the contract, a $5,000 ratification bonus, as well as vacation and sick leave policies and healthcare benefits.
This upcoming vote follows an earlier rejection by union members of Boeing’s previous contract proposal on July 27.
The International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers represents about 600,000 active and retired members across various industries in North America. More information about IAM can be found at goIAM.org.
“IAM Union District 837 members will have their voices heard once again as they consider Boeing’s latest offer,” said union leadership ahead of the vote.
