The 2025 IAM International President’s Classic golf tournament took place at Fox Ridge Golf Club in Auburn, Maine, gathering members of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM), labor allies, and supporters from across North America. The event raised over $150,000 for the Maine Museum of Innovation, Learning and Labor (Maine MILL).
The funds will be used to support the rehabilitation of Maine MILL’s former Camden Yarns Mill and to help construct an addition that will serve as the museum’s permanent home. The new facility is under construction in Lewiston, Maine, with plans to open in summer 2026. It will include space for permanent and temporary exhibitions, a classroom, children’s area, and a design lab.
“This event is about honoring the history of working people and giving back to the communities that raised us,” said IAM International President Brian Bryant. “Supporting Maine MILL means preserving the stories of the working class. As someone who grew up in Maine, this cause is close to my heart, and I couldn’t be prouder of what we accomplished together.”
Dozens of teams participated in the tournament. The day included raffles, giveaways, and remarks from both IAM Union representatives and leaders from Maine MILL.
Rachel Ferrante, Executive Director of the Maine MILL, stated: “This incredible show of support from International President Bryant and the IAM Union will help us continue preserving and celebrating the legacy of Maine’s workers. We’re so grateful to everyone who participated and donated. Your generosity is making history.”
The event had more than 50 hole sponsors. Gold sponsors included several IAM offices such as the International President’s Office, Eastern Territory, District 4, Local S6; as well as Jones Granger Law Firm and Employee Benefit Systems Inc. Silver sponsors included other IAM territories—Canadian Territory, Air Transport Territory—and partners such as National Group Protection and American Income Life.
Maine MILL aims to become a cultural hub focused on education about local labor history while fostering community engagement.
