The International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM) has announced that its 2026 IAM Scholarship Competition will open for applications on October 1, 2025. The deadline for submitting entries is Friday, February 6, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time. Applications must be submitted online.

The competition is available to IAM members who have maintained two years of continuous service, as well as their children who are current high school seniors in the United States and Canada. According to the IAM, interested applicants can access the online application forms, competition rules, and additional information through the IAM Scholarship Competition page or by downloading official documents in English and French.

In the previous year’s competition, more than 300 individuals applied. Of those applicants, “the IAM awarded 16 scholarships valued at $4,000 per student to members and their children.” The program also includes a vocational-technical two-year scholarship option for both members and their children.

The IAM Scholarship Fund was created by delegates at the organization’s Grand Lodge Convention in 1960. The fund is dedicated solely to supporting these annual awards.

Further details about eligibility requirements and how to apply can be found on the IAM Scholarship website.
