Josh Hartford, Special Assistant to the International President for the IAM Union Rail Division, spoke at the IAM New Mexico State Council meeting to provide an update on recent rail industry developments. He addressed key topics such as contract negotiations, workforce safety, and federal policies aimed at protecting union jobs.

During his remarks, Hartford acknowledged IAM Local 331’s participation in the council for the first time. He emphasized the importance of unity among delegates from across New Mexico and encouraged ongoing collaboration between the Rail Division and state councils.

“The IAM Rail Division continues to give members a strong voice in the rail industry here in New Mexico,” said Hartford. “We’re fighting every day to make sure our members are being seen and rewarded for the critical work they do throughout the state.”

Hartford also recognized Local 331’s efforts to engage with other delegates and highlighted solidarity as key to advancing workers’ interests. The IAM Rail Division’s involvement in state council activities reflects its commitment to advocating for rail workers’ rights and expanding its role within the industry.
