IAM Air Transport Territory General Vice President Richie Johnsen, along with other union leaders, recently visited members working at Alaska Airlines Cargo and held discussions with mechanics from both Alaska and Hawaiian Airlines in Seattle and Hawaii.

A major topic of concern during these meetings was the upcoming representation election between the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM Union) and the Aircraft Mechanics Fraternal Association (AMFA). This election follows the ongoing merger between Hawaiian Airlines and Alaska Airlines.

Addressing questions from union members, Johnsen issued a public challenge to AMFA for a debate. He stated his readiness to meet “at any time, any where to discuss issues at stake for the workforce.”

Video highlights of these discussions are available online.
