The International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM) recently hosted its 2025 Joint Air Transport Safety Committee (JATSC) Conference at the William W. Winpisinger Center in Hollywood, Maryland. The event focused on several key safety initiatives for the air transport sector.

According to the IAM, the committee concentrated on collaborative safety programs, such as the Ground Safety Action Program. Efforts also centered on injury prevention, hazard mitigation, and support for training and education. The committee further advocated for strong systems to report worker safety concerns.

The conference included daily video wrap-up reports, which featured sessions on topics like distracted driving and workplace issues, including carelessness and complacency.
