The Jazz Loft @ Southampton Concert Series will continue its fall season on Friday, November 7, with a performance titled “Strictly Sinatra! A Man and His Music.” The event is scheduled for 7 p.m. at the Avram Theater at Stony Brook Southampton.

The concert will feature vocalist Pete Caldera, who will perform songs from Frank Sinatra’s catalog. Caldera is also known for his work as a reporter covering the New York Yankees for the Bergen Record and USA Today network. He has previously served as chairman of the New York Chapter of the Baseball Writers’ Association of America.

Caldera will be accompanied by the Jazz Loft’s 17-piece big band under the direction of Tom Manuel, founder of The Jazz Loft. The band will present original Sinatra arrangements by Nelson Riddle, Billy May, Sy Oliver, and others.

Frank Sinatra once said, “When I sing, I believe. I’m honest. If you want to get an audience with you, there’s only one way. You have to reach out to them with total honesty and humility.”

General admission tickets are priced at $36. Discounts are available: Stony Brook University faculty and staff, alumni, and seniors can attend for $33; SBU students can purchase tickets for $18.

The series is held in collaboration with The Jazz Loft in Stony Brook and curated by its founder Thomas Manuel, who is also a musician and Stony Brook University Endowed Artist in Residence. According to organizers, “the series is a celebration of creativity, history and artistry,” offering audiences an exploration of different aspects of jazz music through each performance.

Further information about performers can be found on the concert series website.
