Nassau County Legislator Scott M. Davis attended the “Playing on the Porch” musical event organized by the Rockville Centre Chamber of Commerce on September 6 in Rockville Centre, New York. The event featured performances from over three dozen bands throughout the village, supporting the Chamber’s South Side School scholarship program.

The kickoff for the event took place at the home of Molloy University President Dr. James Lentini.

“While the weather was far from cooperative, the rain hardly dampened the community’s enthusiasm for this great tradition – one that raises critical fund for our students and gives local performers a showcase for their talents,” Legislator Davis said. “I appreciate the Rockville Centre Chamber for bringing us together each year to enjoy performances by so many of our neighbors.”

The annual gathering provides an opportunity for local musicians to perform and helps raise funds for student scholarships in the area.
