Long Island Association elects seven new directors from business and education sectors

The Long Island Association (LIA) has elected seven new members to its Board of Directors, representing sectors including higher education, scientific research, accounting services, and defense manufacturing. The appointments were made during recent board meetings.

The new directors are Dr. Jerry Balentine, President of New York Institute of Technology; Damon Brady, Product Line Director at BAE Systems; Dr. Andrea Goldsmith, President of Stony Brook University; John Hill, Interim Director at Brookhaven National Laboratory; Craig Savell, Managing Principal of the New York Metro Region for Baker Tilly; Dr. Christopher Storm, Interim President of Adelphi University; and Jerry Ward, Office Managing Partner at Ernst & Young LLP (EY).

These individuals come from organizations with a strong presence on Long Island. Their roles range from leading universities that educate local students and conduct research to overseeing companies involved in national security or providing professional services to businesses in the region.

Lawrence Waldman, Chairman of the LIA, stated: “We are excited to welcome these accomplished and knowledgeable leaders to the LIA Board of Directors. Their leadership and industry expertise will bring fresh perspectives and help guide our mission to strengthen Long Island’s competitiveness and economic resilience.”
