On July 28, 2025, the Long Island Association (LIA) hosted its fifth annual Golf Classic and Awards Reception at Glen Head, New York. The event brought together members of the regional business community for a day of networking and golf.

During the reception, Jane Duggan, a long-time LIA Board Member and retired TD Bank executive, was recognized for her contributions to Long Island’s economic growth and her commitment to community service.

Matt Cohen, President & CEO of LIA, stated: “Long Island summers offer warm weather, beautiful beaches, and lots of recreational fun, including at our world-class parks and golf courses. But our business community doesn’t stop and so our annual Golf Classic is a fun opportunity to network and collaborate among friends and associates, getting business done under the sun. It was wonderful to see so many LIA members enjoying a round of golf, expanding partnerships and making new contacts to boost their businesses. When the golf ended, we were thrilled to honor to Jane Duggan, a former LIA Board member and retired TD Bank executive who is known for her energy, enthusiasm, and gregarious approach to business. It was a pleasure to share her achievements with her family, colleagues, and the regional business community.”

Larry Waldman, Chair of the LIA Board of Directors added: “We couldn’t think of a more fitting honor at the annual Golf Classic for our long-time Board member Jane Duggan in honor of her service to the LIA and our greater Long Island community. She is a champion for business growth and has touched so many lives throughout her professional career and volunteer work. We are grateful for her contributions to the LIA on the Board and many different committees to support our role as an advocate for economic prosperity.”

Jane Duggan responded: “A heartfelt thanks to LIA management and Board of Directors for nominating me for this tremendous honor. I thoroughly enjoyed serving on the Board and garnering knowledge and deep connections as a result of my involvement. I also want to reiterate my thanks to all of the sponsors and friends that supported this memorable day. I had a special day at the LIA Golf Classic playing with my daughter and TD colleagues.”

Anthony Esernio, Commercial Market President of Suburban New York at TD Bank said: “Jane Duggan has been a wonderful colleague and dedicated member of the Long Island business community for decades, touching many companies, colleagues and community organizations through her work. TD Bank was pleased to join the Long Island Association in honoring Jane and sponsor this event, and we continue to wish Jane the best in her retirement.”

Duggan’s banking career spanned 45 years in leadership roles focused on middle market clients. As Senior Vice President at TD Bank’s Suburban NY Middle Market Segment she managed risk profiles totaling $1 billion. In addition to supporting local businesses’ growth on Long Island during her tenure in banking leadership positions—including fostering opportunities for women leaders—she served on several key committees within LIA such as its Executive Committee; Audit & Finance Committee; as well as Co-Chairing Economic Development & Infrastructure initiatives.

Duggan grew up in Huntington before raising four children in Nassau County with her late husband John.

The Long Island Association describes itself as a non-profit chamber representing area businesses since 1926 with efforts focused on promoting economic vitality across Long Island (www.longislandassociation.org).
