Long Island entrepreneur Jill Weissman, Founder and CEO of Beyond the Bib, said that her company’s success on Amazon has encouraged other local founders to consider the platform for growth and visibility. The statement was made in an interview.
“Beyond the Bib’s success on Amazon has absolutely had a ripple effect in my local community,” said Weissman. “I’ve connected with several local food founders who are now exploring Amazon as a growth channel after seeing what it’s done for our brand.”
Weissman was selected as a winner of the Amazon and Enthuse Foundation Grant and will be highlighted at the 7th Annual Enthuse Foundation Pitch Competition. According to Weissman, the grant provides critical funding and visibility to women entrepreneurs developing consumer products. It supports founders growing small businesses through mentorship and financial resources.
“I do a lot of grassroots marketing in children’s play spaces and local classes, and Amazon closes the loop by giving parents an easy way to buy afterward,” Weissman said. This comment highlights how she integrates local outreach with online purchasing pathways, showing how Amazon supports small businesses by simplifying the customer buying process.
This year marks 25 years since Amazon opened its store to independent sellers, enabling more than $2.5 trillion in sales. More than 60% of sales now come from small and medium-sized businesses. These sellers create jobs, support local economies, and bring innovative products to customers across the Tri-State area.
Beyond the Bib creates nutritious meal starter sauces and dips formulated for toddlers and young children. The company was developed to offer simple, clean ingredients for families seeking healthier options. More than half of Beyond the Bib’s total sales come from Amazon’s online marketplace.
Weissman is a Long Island mother of two who leads product development and growth strategy for her children’s food company. Her work has contributed to local entrepreneurship by encouraging other founders to explore Amazon as a sales channel.
