MACNY has announced the addition of four new staff members to support the expansion of its workforce development programs and industry collaboration efforts across New York State.
Nick Bruno joins as Director of Strategic Initiatives for Workforce Development. He will be responsible for developing partnerships and growing workforce programs. Bruno previously worked at Mohawk Valley EDGE as Vice President of Business Development, where he managed business attraction in sectors such as nanoelectronics and semiconductors, oversaw capital projects, and handled grant applications. He holds a master’s degree in Urban and Regional Planning from the University at Albany.
Karen (Kay) Lindsay has been named Pre-Apprenticeship Manager. She will lead the Real Life Rosies and Advance 2 Apprenticeship programs, which are designed to prepare individuals for entry-level positions or advanced training like Registered Apprenticeships. Lindsay brings experience from roles at Semikron-Danfoss, New York State OPWDD, and Upstate Caring Partners. Her academic background includes an associate degree in Business Administration, a bachelor’s degree in Human Services, and ongoing studies toward a second bachelor’s degree in Human Resources.
Amanda Coe joins MACNY as a Workforce Development Specialist to assist with pre-apprenticeship programs. She previously served as an instructor and academic advisor at Morrisville State College. Coe holds a Bachelor of Science in Health Studies from Utica University, an Associate of Applied Science in Massage Therapy from Morrisville State College, HRCI certification, and is currently pursuing a Master of Arts in Adult Education at Empire State University.
Ariel Bryant is joining MACNY affiliate Partners for Education & Business, Inc. (PEB) as a Workforce Development Specialist. Bryant brings experience supporting K–16 students through previous positions at Syracuse University and the SUNY Center for Professional Development where she coordinated student employment programs and developed training initiatives. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Sociology with a minor in Africana Studies from the University at Albany.
