One of Douglas Elliman’s leading real estate teams, Noble Black and Partners, is moving to Corcoran. Noble Black, who has led the team at Elliman since 2015, will return to Corcoran where he began his career and spent a decade.
The Noble Black and Partners team recorded over $250 million in sell-side transactions in New York City last year. This performance earned them the No. 4 spot among resale agents and No. 13 among new development brokers in The Real Deal’s latest rankings. In 2024, they were Elliman’s top-ranked team in Manhattan and had the second-highest gross commission income among the brokerage’s largest teams.
A spokesperson for Douglas Elliman commented on Black’s departure: “We are proud of the agent Noble became as part of Douglas Elliman this last decade.” The spokesperson also stated that Elliman wishes Black “continued success” and said the firm will “continue to attract and retain top talent across our markets.”
Black’s team included 36 members at the time of his departure, according to his website. At least 10 members are expected to join him at Corcoran, including Jamie Gagliano and Matthew Mackay. Mackay joined Black’s team from his own group within Elliman earlier this year. It remains uncertain if more will follow.
Black said that several firms approached him recently but emphasized that his meetings were for “due diligence and seeing what’s out there, not from any position of, ‘I’m looking for something else.’”
Glenn Davis, an Elliman agent who joined Black as a partner to expand their new development sales business, will not be moving with the group to Corcoran.
Earlier this year, Black’s team expanded into the Hamptons market and completed significant deals such as selling properties at 8 John Street in Sag Harbor and 139 Seascape Lane in Sagaponack for $15.5 million each.
In Manhattan, one of Black’s recent notable deals was a penthouse at 111 Murray Street that closed for $28 million; he co-listed it with Elliman’s De Niro team. Before leaving Corcoran previously, he sold Denise Rich’s penthouse at 785 Fifth Avenue for $54 million.
Recently, developer Rotem Rosen selected Black under Elliman’s new development marketing division to lead sales at Malabar Residences on Billionaires’ Row (126 57th Street). However, this project will remain with Elliman following Black’s move.
Black is one of several high-profile producers who have left Douglas Elliman after changes in leadership last year and a series of quarterly losses. Other agents departing for Corcoran include Kathy Murray and Kirsten Jordan with her own team earlier this year. Additional departures include Holly Parker—who took her New York-based group elsewhere—and Tracy Tutor from “Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles,” who moved to Compass.
