The New York State Public Service Commission will hold a virtual public statement hearing on September 9, 2025, to gather input on an application from Niagara Mohawk Power Corporation, operating as National Grid. The company is seeking a Certificate of Environmental Compatibility and Public Need under Article VII of the Public Service Law for a transmission line project.

National Grid’s proposal involves rebuilding about 16.3 miles of the existing 115 kilovolt Southeast Batavia-Golah 119 Transmission Line. The planned route extends from near structure 107, west of the North LeRoy Substation, to the Golah Substation. The project would affect areas in Genesee County (Town and Village of LeRoy), Livingston County (Town and Village of Caledonia), and Monroe County (Towns of Wheatland and Rush).

Under state law, the Commission has the authority to approve, reject, or modify National Grid’s proposal after considering comments from involved parties and the public.

A virtual public statement hearing will be held before an Administrative Law Judge at 6:00 p.m. on September 9, accessible via meetny-gov.webex.com with access code 2819 091 8305 and password Sept9-6pm. Phone-only access is also available by calling 1-929-251-9612 with access code and password provided.

All participants will be muted upon entry until called upon by the Administrative Law Judge. Reasonable time limits may be set to ensure all speakers are heard; lengthy comments should be submitted in writing with summaries provided orally.

A verbatim transcript will be made part of the official record for this case.
