Stony Brook Southampton offers educational boat trip for campus community

Student Life at Stony Brook Southampton, in collaboration with the School of Health Professions and the School of Marine and Atmospheric Sciences, will host a free boat trip for students, faculty, and staff on Friday, October 10. The event is sponsored by Southampton Strategic Initiatives Leadership.

The boat trip is scheduled from 2 pm to 4 pm and aims to provide participants with an opportunity to explore the local environment, observe marine life, and engage in hands-on learning activities led by experts from SoMAS. Snacks and refreshments will be provided during the outing.

According to organizers, “Participants will get the chance to explore the local environment, discover sea creatures and experience hands-on learning with SoMAS experts. Snacks and refreshments will be included.”

The event is limited to 30 participants. Priority registration is given to students before opening up spots for faculty and staff. Registration must be completed online by 9 am on Thursday, October 9.

Attendees are required to arrive at the Marine Sciences Station 15 minutes prior to departure so that the boat can leave as scheduled.
