Stony Brook University held its annual investiture ceremony on October 24 at the Charles B. Wang Center Theater, recognizing 10 faculty members who have been appointed to endowed positions. The event took place during Homecoming weekend and formally installed these professors into roles that are considered among the highest honors a university can offer.

Endowed positions play an important role in supporting leading faculty members. They help Stony Brook attract top talent who educate students, provide healthcare, and advance research efforts. These roles also serve as tributes to donors whose support makes such appointments possible.

“Today we recognize our distinguished faculty whose groundbreaking work defines Stony Brook’s excellence,” said Stony Brook University President Andrea Goldsmith. “We are deeply grateful to our remarkable supporters and the transformational impact of the endowed chairs they have created. Because of their partnership, we are accelerating discovery, building our faculty to educate and advance the frontiers of knowledge in more dimensions and catalyzing research excellence by empowering the remarkable people who drive it.”

Further information about the honored faculty members is available in a story by Christine McGrath in SB Matters.
