The New York State Public Service Commission has announced that the virtual public statement hearing regarding the proposed transmission line rebuild, originally scheduled for an earlier date, has been rescheduled. The new date for the hearing is Thursday, January 8, 2026, at 5:30 p.m.
The hearing will be held virtually before an Administrative Law Judge. Participants who wish to make a statement can join electronically by visiting meetny-gov.webex.com and entering the event number 2828 908 6827 with the password Jan8-5:30pm. Those preferring to participate by phone can dial 1-929-251-9612 and use the same access code with the phone-in password 52680503.
Pre-registration is not required to speak at the hearing. All participants will be muted upon entry and called upon individually by the Administrative Law Judge. The hearing will continue until all speakers have had a chance to comment or other arrangements are made for submitting comments into the record. Time limits may be imposed as needed to allow everyone an opportunity to be heard. Lengthy comments are requested in writing and should be summarized when presented orally. A verbatim transcript of the proceedings will be included in the official record.
People with disabilities who need accommodations are encouraged to contact the Department of Public Service’s Human Resource Management Office at 518-473-9463 as soon as possible. TDD users may request a sign language interpreter through New York Relay Service at 711. Individuals needing language assistance can call 1-800-342-3377 for free services.
Those unable or unwilling to speak during the hearing have several alternatives for submitting their input on Case “25-T-0262.” Comments must be received by February 2, 2026. Submissions can be made online at www.dps.ny.gov by searching for case number “25-T-0262” and using the “Post Comments” option, or mailed directly to Hon. Michelle L. Phillips, Secretary, Public Service Commission, Three Empire State Plaza, Albany, NY, 12223-1350; however, electronic submissions are strongly encouraged.
Written comments will be posted publicly on the Department’s website under the corresponding case number. In addition, individuals may call the Commission’s Opinion Line at 1-800-335-2120 at any time to leave comments; these are summarized for review but not transcribed verbatim.
