The annual Wolfieland carnival returned to Stony Brook University on September 20, marking its ninth year. The event transformed the Student Activities Center parking lot into a festival with rides, games, and food vendors. The carnival attracted large crowds early in the evening, with students lining up for popular attractions such as the Ferris wheel and the new Tokyo Drift ride.

Throughout the night, students participated in activities like cornhole and mock game shows. Food trucks offered refreshments along the perimeter of the event space, while beverage tents provided cold drinks to attendees.

Freshman Tanisha Muralimanohar shared her experience at one of the games: “We’ve already played the water gun game ten times tonight.”

Beth Portnoy, assistant vice president of communications for Undergraduate Student Government (USG), commented on this year’s improvements: “This year feels like a huge upgrade. We’ve added new vendors, the turnout has been amazing, and everything feels in control.”

Richard Gatteau, vice president for student affairs, highlighted Wolfieland’s significance to campus life: “It’s one of our most incredible traditions. It’s a wonderful partnership between USG and student engagement, a true example of community building. Honestly, it even feels like a reunion.”

Sebastian Adams, USG’s vice president of student life, discussed some changes made this year: “We’re expecting record numbers this year. I just wanted to show out and bring some new things to the table.” He noted new sponsors such as Adobe Express and an updated staging setup.

As festivities concluded late in the evening, students left carrying prizes and sharing photos from their night at Wolfieland.
